The Storm Center and former head of Cat Fund team up on Florida’s disaster policy interventions in DC

Lori Medders (Center Director) and Jack Nicholson (formerly COO of the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund) wrote an invited paper for discussion and a policy brief for Resources for the Future (www.rff.org). The paper was presented at a RFF workshop entitled, Improving Disaster Financing: Evaluating Policy Interventions in Disaster Insurance Markets, held November 29-30, 2016 in Washington, DC. The paper discusses the operations and financial condition of Florida’s Citizens Property Insurance Corporation and the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund and evaluates Florida’s use of the two entities.
